55th annual Highland County Junior Fair Queen Contest

Instructions for entering the 2014 Highland County Junior Fair Queen Contest have been announced.The 55th annual fair queen contest will be held Saturday, Aug. 30 in the Multipurpose Building on the Highland County Fairgrounds in Hillsboro. Pendall assumes command of 66th Military Intelligence Brigade in Germany

U.S. Army Colonel Dave Pendall, the son of Lorraine Kihlmire Pendall of Lynchburg and Dave E. Pendall of Hillsboro, assumed command of the 66th Military Intelligence (MI) Brigade on June 27 in Wiesbaden, Germany.The 66th MI Brigade has supporting relationships across Europe, Africa and Afghanistan, with soldiers and Department of the Army civilians serving in over 12 countries on a regular basis and also deploying teams to contingency missions for our nation.

Evans is the recipient of a $14,000 Academic Achievement Scholarship to attend Wilmington College.She plans to major in animal science.Evans is a 2014 graduate of Lynchburg-Clay High School.
