More than 100 high school students representing all public five school districts in Highland County will participate in a Manufacturing Awareness Day on Feb. 29, an experience made possible by the Highland County ACCESS Program. This day will provide students exclusive tours of eight prominent local manufacturing facilities.

The Hillsboro FFA Chapter recently hosted a new event called a Day of Giving at Hillsboro High School. The event was focused on being more involved with the community by assessing the needs of the local people and taking action.

On Jan. 26, the Hillsboro FFA Chapter rewarded the members who sold a minimum of $350 of fruit for their annual fundraiser.

‘HHS On Broadway’ Saturday

The HHS Musical Theatre’s seventh annual fundraiser “HHS On Broadway!” will be held Saturday, Feb. 17. The theme is “The Golden Age of Broadway!” There will be solos, duets, small ensembles and a number performed by the cast of this year’s spring musical, “The Sound of Music” and HHS Alumni. There will be a large selection of sweet treats, coffee, tea and water available as well as several items that will be raffled off. All proceeds go toward the production of “The Sound of Music!” “HHS On Broadway” will be at 7 p.m. in the Hillsboro High School Theater. WC to host ‘Life Stories’ exhibit

The Meriam R. Hare Quaker Heritage Center’s new gallery exhibit “Life Stories” is a mixed media display that features 10 women, serving long prison sentences, speaking their truth from inside the Ohio Reformatory for Women. An opening reception will be held Feb. 22, from 6-8 p.m. at the QHC located in Wilmington College’s Boyd Cultural Arts Center.

WC students work at Super Bowl LVIII
