Despite the best attempts of the weather and other factors, the running of what this year was dubbed the Dr. Paul “Doc” Yinger Memorial Rocky Fork Thunder returned to Highland County for a 25th year over the weekend after a one-year hiatus.While there were issues from the beginning on Friday to the end on Sunday, race chairman Dean Armstrong said that overall the crowds were good and the racers were satisfied.“All in all I think we had a successful event,” Armstrong said Monday while he was cleaning up from the races. “I wish Mother Nature would have cooperated a little better, but it is what it is. We’ll make a run at it again next year.”

 

Alleged assault ends in head injury

A report to the Highland County Sheriff’s Office concerning an injured female led to a charge of felonious assault, according to an affidavit filed with the Hillsboro Municipal Court.When a deputy responded to the call on Saturday, he observed a female lying unconscious in the front yard of the residence. Greenfield teen remains in detention
