Madison Schumacher, president of the McClain FFA, sat down recently with the school’s journalism students to talk about the upcoming year and the new officers that were selected in May. Schumacher said that FFA has provided her and other students unique experiences.

“Because of FFA, I have a secure plan for my future and want to give back to an organization that has given so much to me,” Schumacher said.

The following is a list of McClain’s new officers and their positions: president, Madison Schumacher; vice president, Mat Barton; secretary, Whitney Blazer; reporter, Emily Jones; treasurer, Sunny Bland; sentinel, Kendall Pollard; student advisor, Brock Dean; community service, Kyle Wyatt; healthy lifestyles, Ethan Cockerill; leadership, Kenzie Anderson; scholarship, Ethan Johnson; CDE, Heidi Rolfe; SAE, Bryn Karnes; alumni, Lexie Barton; finance, Eric Anderson; public relations, Kelli Urig; citizenship, Johnny Free; recruitment, Allison Beatty; chaplin, Morgan Faulconer and historian, Destiny Trefz.

The newly elected officers will start off the year at the Highland County Fair with Barnyard Olympics. Within the next few weeks, soil judging will start as well.
