McClain soil judging teams take two firsts

The Greenfield FFA soils team competed in the Highland County Soils Competition on Tuesday with both the urban soils and rural soils teams placing first.

Overall members of the urban soils team were Garrett Brewer, Madison Schumacher, Ethan Johnson, Mat Barton, Suncerae Bland, and Kyle Wyatt. They competed with four other teams. There were 26 total FFA members competing in the Highland County urban contest.

Overall members of the rural soils team were Ethan Cockrill, Emily Jones, Eric Anderson, Bryan Karnes, Justin Hall, and Carter Campbell. There were 42 Highland County FFA members competing in the rural contest.

Both teams also competed Thursday at the district competition.
