Young picker at Highland House

Parker Hastings, recently recognized by the Kentucky Thumbpickers for his Recording of the Year, will be performing at the Highland House on East Main Street in Hillsboro at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9. He is the son of Greg and Denise Hastings of Richmond, Ky. and the grandson of Don and Carolyn Hastings of Lynchburg.

Hastings is a thumbpicker in the style of Chet Adkins, Merle Travis and Tommy Emmanuel.

Although he is only 16, Hastings has been inducted into the Thumbpickers Hall of Fame in Meuhlenburg County, Ky., Home of the Legends.

His versatility, creativity and stage presence make for an enjoyable afternoon of entertainment. The concert is open to the public and free.
