The College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) Alumni Society met on March 4 for its spring board meeting. During the board’s reorganization, three new board of directors were appointed.

John Kellis, a graduate of the college’s School of Natural Resources, was appointed to a three-year term and will represent Southwest Ohio on the board. The Hillsboro native received his bachelor’s degree in resource development in 1975.

Also appointed were Derek Snider, representing the NW Ohio region, and Abby Waidelich, representing the class of 2016.

The CFAES Alumni Society is constituted to promote post-collegiate assemblies along vocational and professional lines and to promote fellowship amongst themselves and interests in the college and the university. The board of directors are tasked to plan for and to initiate programs, events, and activities which allow for the implementation of the mission, purposes, and priorities of the society.

The board will serve as the voice of the college alumni with the Ohio State Alumni Association, the college, and the university administration, along with agri-industry leaders in Ohio. The voting membership of the board includes five directors from Ohio regions, representatives from each of the academic departments in the college, three at-large members appointed by the alumni coordinator, and two voting members from out-of-state geographical regions.
