Elvis at senior center
A Decade Dance of the ’50s & ’60s: Featuring Tyler Christopher as Elvis Presley is Saturday, March 25 at the Highland County Senior Citizens Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. with a dinner, show, then a 1950s and 1960s dance until 9 p.m. Advance tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the center or online at highlandseniors.com. Soup’s On free meal
The Soup’s On free meal will be on Saturday, March 25 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Hillsboro. Prayer and praise is at 4:30 p.m. and dinner is served from 5-6 p.m. The menu will be barbeque pulled pork or barbeque pulled chicken sandwiches, buttered potatoes, green beans, assorted desserts and drinks.
Veterans Memorial bricks
Any wanting a new brick placed around the Veterans Memorial at the Highland County Courthouse in time for Memorial Day needs to fill out a form and pay the $50 fee by the end of March. Forms are available at Rick’s Body Shop in Allensburg, at Hillsboro VFW Post 9094 behind the Dairy Queen or at the Highland County Commissioners office. The Bakenhasters in Greenfield
The Greenfield Church of Christ, 503 McClain Ave., will host The Bakenhasters at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 26 on Youth Night. All money collected will go toward the youth department to prepare for the 2017 Vacation Bible School program and more.
SATH Bowling Tournament
The second annual SATH Bowling Tournament will be held Sunday, March 26 at the Highland lanes in Hillsboro from noon to 4 p.m. The cost is $35 per person or $150 per team. All proceed will benefit KAMP Dovetail.
Jacky recital at Episcopal Church
On Sunday, March 26 at 3 p.m., Daniel Jacky a senior at Hillsboro High School will present a recital on the historic organ at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, corner of North High and North Streets in Hillsboro. Jacky studies under David White and also serves as organist at the First Presbyterian Church, and is a baritone and accompanist of the Hillsboro High School Symphonic Choir and the Highland County Chorus. He has received multiple superior ratings in the Ohio Music Educators Association events and plans to further his music education in college. Thomas speaking at Aglow
The public is invited to attend the Hillsboro Aglow International Lighthouse on Monday, March 27 for a light supper, worship, inspirational speaker and prayer. This month’s speaker is Kristina Thomas, a native of Leesburg. The meeting will be held at the Common Ground Community Church Fellowship Hall, 7406 Mad River Road, Hillsboro. A light meal begins at 6:30 p.m. with the worship starting at 7 p.m.

Two-day SSCC board meeting
The Southern State Community College Board of Trustees will meet at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 29 and reconvene at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 30 in the large conference room at the Ohio Association of Community Colleges offices, 175 S. Third St., Suite 560, Columbus. The meeting is open to the public.
Farm Bureau Scholarship
The Highland County Farm Bureau is prepared to provide at least one $1,000 scholarship and one $500 scholarship this year. These scholarships are available to 2017 Highland County graduating seniors who will be entering a two- or four-year college or technical school and majoring in agriculture. In addition, a $500 scholarship can also be awarded to a student currently enrolled in a two- or four-year college or technical school with a major in agriculture. The applicant or their parents must be Highland County Farm Bureau members. Applications are available in all five Highland County High School guidance offices and ag education departments. Applications can also be requested from the Farm Bureau office by calling 937-378-2212. Applications must be delivered to the Farm Bureau office no later than March 30 or be postmarked by that date. OVRDC Fill Commission
Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission’s (OVRDC) Annual Full Commission Meeting and Election of Officers will be held Friday, March 31 at the Fayette County Commission on Aging, 1179 South Elm St., Washington C.H. Lynchburg-Clay kindergarten registration
Kindergarten registration for students living in the Lynchburg-Clay Local School District will be held beginning Monday, April 3 through Wednesday, April 12. Parents may register any day between the 3rd and 12th in the Elementary office between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Benefit for Bennett
A Benefit and Night of Fun to help cover medical expenses for Makayla Bennett will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 8 at Buckskin Elementary in South Salem. There willbe a 50/50 raffle, silent and live auctions at 5 p.m., music by the Appalachian Christian Hillbilly Band, a magician performing for children, a spaghetti dinner and various vendors will be on hand. The fee is a donation of $5.

A Pancake Extravaganza with the Easter Bunny and Friends at Highland County Senior Citizens Center is Saturday, April 8 from 8 a.m. to noon. It will features characters like those from PAW Patrol, Princess Belle and Elmo. There will be an indoor egg hunt, coloring eggs, games, breakfast and more. Kids get an Easter basket. Hillsboro CCCU revival
The Hillsboro Church of Christ in Christian Union, 126 E. Beech St., will hold a revival at 7 p.m. April 12-14 with evangelist Delbert Copas. On April 15 there will be gospel singing by The Ohio Valley Watchmen at 6 p.m., and on April 16 there will be a sunrise service featuring pastor Danny Shaffer at 7 a.m.
Southside Easter Egg Hunt
The Southside Praise & Worship Center will host an Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15. Everyone is welcome. Church members are encouraged to donate candy-filled eggs. They should be dropped off at the church by April 9.
More Than an Egg Hunt
More Than an Egg Hunt will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15 at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. Everyone is welcome to enjoy some Easter fun. There will be age appropriate egg hunts, coloring, bouncy houses, cookie decorating, lunch and pictures with the Easter Bunny.
