Widening and pavement resurfacing on U.S. Route 50 and a portion of SR 286 in Marathon requires closing the roads. The west end of U.S. 50 will close first, including a portion of SR 286. Immediately following completion on the west end, the east end of U.S. 50 will close for 60 days.

Beginning Monday, May 2, U.S. 50 will be closed from approximately West Street in Marathaon to just past Fomorin Road/SR 286 for 30 days. In addition, 0.30 miles of SR 286 at the intersection of U.S. 50 will be closed.

Once complete, U.S. 50 will be closed from just past Fomorin Road/SR 286 to the Clermont/Brown county line for 60 days.

Traffic will be detoured north on SR 133 to east on SR 131 to south on U.S. 68.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone and road closures. All work is weather dependent.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
