Vicki Williams, manager of the Highland County Humane Society, addressed Hillsboro Rotarians on Tuesday to discuss several projects and programs the society is undertaking, including Saturday’s “Mardi Growl” walk at Liberty Park. The event takes place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a mile walk starting at 11. There will be food, a raffle, $5 grab bags for cats or dogs, a photographer providing photos for $5 and a bake sale, with proceeds beneftting the shelter. Also, May 13-15 is National Adopt A Pet Weekend, and some adoptable dogs will be at Liberty Park on Saturday. Several board members were on hand Tuesday. Williams was introduced by Rotarian Sue Smith.
