Family Camp enters final day

Attendees are pictured at this week’s Family Camp at Restoration Acres, just west of the city. In 1972, Person to Person Ministries began hosting its Family Camp Meeting at the Marvin Wilson farm outside of Hillsboro. About 15 families camped out and about 200 people were in attendance that first year. Not long thereafter 73 acres were purchased and named Restoration Acres, which now has 153 acres of campgrounds where 400 to 500 camper units and 3,500 to 4,000 people converge each year for the annual Camp Meeting. Person to Person Ministries was established in 1967 under the direction of Larry “Bus” Wiseman with the help of several Southwest Ohio residents. The Hillsboro camp is running this week from Monday through Thursday.
