Local author Wayne Page will be promoting his novel “Barnstorm” at two Highland County libraries next week.

Page, a New Vienna resident, previously served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. “Barnstorm” is his first novel.

The hero of his novel is Trip, a clumsy young man who wants to be a stunt pilot, but who is also afraid of heights. Trip learns to handle this conflict and others by helping Gertie, a widow whose farm is about to be foreclosed on by a banker from Cleveland.

Page will be at the Hillsboro library on Wednesday, Aug. 24, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and at the Leesburg library on Thursday, Aug. 25 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Highland County District Library Director Jennifer West said of Page’s upcoming visit: “We really enjoy meeting and promoting local authors and artists.”
