Soup’s On Free Meal
The Soup’s On Free Meal will be served Saturday, April 29 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, corner of North High and North streets, Hillsboro. Prayer and praise begin at 4:30 p.m. and dinner served from 5-6 p.m. The menu will be ham, potato salad, baked beans, rolls, assorted drinks and desserts.
St. Mary Compassion
St. Mary Catholic Church will host Compassion International Speaker Michael Kirungi of Gabe, Uganda on Saturday, April 29 for a community dinner at 6 p.m. Kirungi will share his life-changing experience with Compassion, which offers child sponsorship to children around the world living in poverty. Hillsboro UMC Compassion
Michael Kirungi with Compassion International will visit the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 30 for a presentation at 9 a.m. during the traditional service and the 11 a.m. service at First Church on 50 at the Hillsboro VFW, 1000 W. Main St. A Meet and Greet Michael Kirungi Community Dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the church Robison Hall on the same day. Rainsboro UMC Election Day meal
The Rainsboro United Methodist Church will hold an Election Day lunch and dinner on May 2. The UMW will be serving from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the church basement. A freewill offering will be accepted. The menu will consist of chicken and noodles, beef and noodles, bean soup and cornbread, mashed potatoes, green beans, slaw, sandwiches, drinks and lots of pies and cakes.
Calvary Chapel revival
The Calvary Chapel Church on U.S. Route 50 in Rainsboro will hold a spring revival May 4-7. Services are at 7:30 p.m. nightly with a 10 a.m. Sunday service and a dinner to follow.
