The hustle and bustle of the holidays is upon us. We hope you will take some time to stop by the Leesburg Library and pick up a good book or participate in one of our programs being offered to help you get into the Christmas spirit.

Our Knit Together group will meet on Thursday, Dec. 3, 10 and 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.. Get started on next year’s Christmas gifts now by learning how to knit. All levels of knitting experience are welcome.

Jingle Books Day at the library will be held Saturday, Dec. 5 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. This program is only for those children who have previously signed up for this reading program and turned in their completed reading logs.

Join us for our first Family Fun Night at the library on Monday, Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m. This month’s family activity will be to make a gingerbread house. All patrons are welcome, but we ask that you sign up at the front desk by Dec. 4.

SPARX, our Teen Book Discussion Group will meet on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m. The book being discussed is “When You Reach Me” by Rebecca Stead. All teens are invited to attend and share some holiday cheer with us. Remember to bring your White Elephant gift for the gift exchange. Refreshments will be served.

The Leesburg Library will once again host the presentation of the king and queen during the Leesburg Luminaria festivities on Sunday, Dec. 13. The library open house will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with the presentation ceremony starting at 5:45 p.m.

Our adult reading group, RRR, will meet on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 1:30 p.m. Please contact a member for more details.

Story times continue on Thursdays. This month’s themes include Christmas plants, Christmas goodies and Here Comes Santa. There will be no story times on Dec. 24, 31 and Jan. 7. Story times will resume on Thursday, Jan. 14. Wee Ones (6-36 months) meet at 10 a.m. and Tater Tots (3-5 years) meet at 10:30 a.m.

The library will be closed on Dec. 24, 25 and 26 for the Christmas holiday and Dec.31 and Jan. 1 and 2 for the New Year holiday. Please use our outdoor book drop when returning items on the days we are closed.
