The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

ACCIDENTS

On Friday, Dec. 4 at 2:50 p.m. the police department responded to a motor vehicle crash. Joseph Wilson, 92, Wilmington, was northbound on North West Street when traffic stopped in front of him. Evan Risley, 18, Hillsboro, was behind Wilson and failed to maintain assured clear distance when coming to a stop and struck the rear of the vehicle driven by Wilson. Risley was cited for assured clear distance.

On Saturday Dec. 5 at 2:50 p.m. the police department responded to a motor vehicle crash. Janet Fair, 58, Hillsboro, was stationary in traffic on southbound South High Street at the intersection of Walnut Street. Larry Carstensen, 71, Port Clinton, was traveling the same direction behind Fair. Carstensen failed to maintain assured clear distance when coming to a stop and struck the vehicle driven by Fair. Carstensen was cited for assured clear distance.
