After an animated public forum Wednesday that included questions and sometimes accusations about costs, staffing, fairness and the merits of a joint fire district versus long-term contracts, Mayor Drew Hastings said he is open to multi-year contracts for fire coverage with four area townships - Liberty, New Market, Jackson and Washington.
