'What is the number?'
After an animated public forum Wednesday that included questions and sometimes accusations about costs, staffing, fairness and the merits of a joint fire district versus long-term contracts, Mayor Drew Hastings said he is open to multi-year contracts for fire coverage with four area townships - Liberty, New Market, Jackson and Washington. Immediately after the meeting, prosecutor Anneka Collins distributed copies of a proposed three-year deal between the city and the townships.

Honoring 1,000 Highland County veterans
Workers on Wednesday began laying memorial bricks honoring more than 1,000 Highland County veterans at the new veterans memorial at the Highland County Courthouse, and no one was more pleased with the progress than retired U.S. Maj. "Mac" McCray.

Since 2003 I've made weekly trips to and from Cincinnati for various purposes. Just last year I was making the drive three times per week for both personal and professional reasons and only occasionally did I change up my route.
