House of Deliverance, a fairly new church in Hillsboro that is pastored by Danny Morgan Jr., has a heart for the community and the goal of the church is to love as Christ loves.
During the autumn months, the church collected Christmas cards for the soldiers overseas. The youth of the church were very involved in the signing and mailing of the cards.
House of Deliverance would like to thank everyone who donated cards, including some students and teachers from Hillsboro Middle School. A total of 1,735 cards were sent to Iraq and Germany. A total of 200 cards have already been collected for the mailing next Christmas.
The Christmas season also brought a chance to support a few local families. Church members, along with the youth, held a shopping day in which gifts were purchased for the families, followed by a gift wrapping, pizza party. Gifts were then delivered to the families in time for Christmas.
House of Deliverance is located on 211 Belfast Pike in Hillsboro. Service times are Sundays at 1 p.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
