Cops say Leesburg man dead in workplace accident

A Leesburg man is dead as the result of a workplace accident, according to information released by the Northwood Police Department in northern Ohio’s Wood County.

Northwood police have identified the victim as Larry Johnson of Leesburg.

The accident occurred at Johnson Controls in Northwood on Monday.

Northwood police said the incident is to be investigated by the Toledo office of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

While the release states initially that the name of the victim was being withheld pending notification of family, it was is amended at its conclusion to say that Johnson’s family has now been notified.

ABC Action News reported that just before 4:30 a.m. Monday a 911 call was made reporting a pinned driver at Johnson Controls. The television station reported that a tractor/trailer rig appeared to have been involved in the accident and that crime tape had been put up near the back of the company’s driver yard.

No other details were made available.
