The Times-Gazette is hosting a free 90-minute breakfast and workshop Thursday devoted to growing local business through effective multimedia marketing, hosted by acclaimed author and multimedia marketing expert Mike Blinder.

The workshop will be held from 8:30-10 a.m. Thursday, April 7, at the Ponderosa Banquet Center in Hillsboro.

Blinder has helped more than 60,000 businesses find local customers, cost effectively using online marketing. His program, “Multimedia Marketing Secrets (for SMBs)” shows how advertising can be used properly in both traditional and digital media, applying some basic marketing approaches. He also presents these “high tech” concepts in a way that are “brought down to earth” so everyone can understand them.

“Multimedia Marketing Secrets (for SMBs)” includes:

• What Small Businesses Invest in Marketing – The latest metrics and methods, and why this is so necessary in a challenging economy.

• The Secrets to Effective Marketing – What it takes to ensure success in advertising, regardless of the media used.

• Making Marketing Messages Work – What you need to say to turn readers into customers, cost-effectively.

• The Digital Marketing Revolution – Using the Web, social media, mobile marketing and search engines for increased results.

Plus, all attendees will have access to valuable, proprietary reports and research that will assist them in planning an effective multimedia marketing campaign.

After building a career as a well-known 1980s radio and television talent in New England, Mike Blinder moved out from behind the microphone and camera to excel in media sales.

Blinder was quick to realize the importance of the newly emerging Internet phenomenon, and soon launched the Internet Sales Division of a leading media group. His career has grown exponentially since then, and he is now in high demand as a sales consultant for some of the world’s most respected media companies and corporations.

His unique approach to sales has been adopted by 60,000 businesses worldwide, and the Blinder Group has helped them bring their products – both traditional and Web based – to countless clients, established and new.

In the past decade alone, Blinder and his team have provided “on-the-street training” to thousands of sales reps, producing millions of dollars in sales. His “tried and true” sales methods continue to provide winning results, even with rapid changes in technologies, and even in the most difficult economic conditions.

Blinder currently resides in Florida, with his wife Robin, 11-year-old daughter Haven and “Golden Doodle” named Ginger. He is an avid boater living on the Gulf of Mexico.
