Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are scheduled to begin a preservation project on a series of bridges in Highland and Brown counties.

Crews from the John R. Jurgensen Company will be paving decks and applying a waterproofing asphalt concrete surface course to bridges on SR 753 in Highland County and SR 32 in Brown County. The project also includes installing new guardrail.

SR 753 will be reduced to one lane between Spargur Lane and Sams Road and traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work during daytime, business hours. On SR 32, crews will be working between Klein Road and Bean Road and traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction.

Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, May 2, and motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution in the work zones.

The Jurgensen Company was awarded a contract for approximately $877,295 to pave the bridges, and all work is scheduled to be completed in mid-summer.
