A Greenfield woman lost her life in a one-vehicle accident early Sunday morning near Leesburg.

According to the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash took place on SR 771, south of SR 138 in Highland County.

The state patrol said it received a call a 4:46 a.m. Sunday reporting the crash. Upon arrival at the scene, troopers said they found a Dodge truck disabled off the left side of the roadway.

An investigation showed that the driver of the vehicle, Latosha D. Benner, 25, of Greenfield, had been southbound on SR 771 and drove the vehicle off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle struck an embankment, overturned, and Benner was ejected from the truck, the state patrol said.

Emergency personnel from Highland County and the Highland County coroner responded to the scene. Benner was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.

Both visitation and funeral services are scheduled for Thursday at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield.
