Free CMT Concert at SSCC/Hillsboro on Nov. 12


Chosen as one of CMT’s 2016 Next Women in Country, singer Carly Pearce will be featured in a free concert Nov. 12 at Southern State Community College in Hillsboro.

Country Music Television is coming to Southern State Community College in Hillsboro for a free concert featuring Carly Pearce who recently was recognized as one of CMT’s 2016 Next Women of Country.

The concert will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on the SSCC Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. The event also includes a performance by local musician James Scott, as well as a Community+College Resource Fair.

Southern State was one of just 15 schools selected to partner with CMT Empowering Education, an initiative to encourage viewers, no matter their age, to enroll or re-enroll in school to reach their full potential. The CMT event at Southern State is a component of ongoing efforts by CMT Empowering Education, the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC).
