Hillsboro Police Department reports

The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Sept. 1

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Terri L. Harmon, 31, of Winchester, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

Jonathan D. Birkhimer, 43, of Hillsboro, was arrested for assault and criminal trespassing.

Denise Marie Brown, 32, of Washington C.H., was arrested for assault and criminal trespassing.

Sept. 2

ACCIDENTS

At 3 p.m., the police department responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at The Laurels of Hillsboro. Ronald L. Chaney, of Hillsboro, was walking through the parking lot when Cindy L. Gardner, of Winchester, was backing out of a parking space and struck the walker Chaney was using, causing him to fall. He was transported by the Paint Creek EMS/Fire District to Highland District Hospital with possible injuries.

At 8:33 p.m., the police department responded to a two-car crash. Christopher Chappa, of Hillsboro, was stopped in traffic on North High Street, close to Somers Street, when a vehicle driven by Ricky Warman, of Hillsboro, was traveling south on North High Street and struck the back end of Chappa’s vehicle. Warman was cited for assured clear distance.

Sept. 3

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Zechariah P. Hickey, 31, of Hillsboro, was arrested for illegal use of a minor in nudity.

Roderick Croy Freeman Jr., 29, of Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant for attempted unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine.

Phillip Fetters, 27, of Peebles, was arrested for OVI.

Sept. 4

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Bradley Kinnett, 29, of Bainbridge, was arrested on a warrant for attempted unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine

INCIDENTS

At 6:36 p.m., the police department received a complaint of shoplifting from the Hillsboro Walmart at 540 Harry Sauner Road. Staci Lynn Tucker, 37, of Mount Orab, was arrested on theft charges.

Sept. 5

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Donald Earl Elliott, 25, of Chillicothe, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

ACCIDENTS

At 9:46 a.m., the police department responded to a report of a one-car crash in the parking lot of Cheap Tobacco, 1220 N. High St. Vickie L. Carrozza, of Hillsboro, was traveling through the parking lot when she struck a concrete pole.

Sept. 6

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Matthew Williams, 23, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

Heather Marie Tankersley, 37, of Dayton was arrested on a parole violation. Jamie Brock Wright, 33, of Leesburg, was arrested for contributing to the unruliness/ delinquency of a child.

Ashley Dawn Gipson, 24, of Hillsboro was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

ACCIDENTS

At 9:05 a.m. the police department responded to a two-car crash at North West Street and Fenner Avenue. William Murphy II, of New Vienna, was traveling south on North West Street when he came to a stop to wait on traffic so he could turn onto Fenner Avenue. Travis Dean Hill, of New Vienna, was traveling behind him in a vehicle in the same direction and failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead and struck the right rear side of Murphy’s vehicle. Hill was cited for assured clear distance. No injuries were reported.
