Hillsboro Police Department reports

The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Sept. 23

ACCIDENT

At 1:02 p.m., the police department received a report of a crash at North High Street and the intersection of East Collins Avenue. Clyde J. Foxx of Hillsboro was northbound on North High Street and had a green light at the intersection of East Collins Avenue. George L Shaffer of New Vienna was sitting at a red light on East Collins Avenue facing westbound when he ran the red light and pulled out into oncoming traffic and was struck by Foxx. Two people were transported to Miami Valley Hospital for possible severe injuries.

Sept. 25

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Melissa R. West, of Greenfield, was arrested on theft charges.

Sept. 26

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Elizabeth A. Weinrich, 30, of Greenfield, was cited for driving under suspension and a turn signal violation, and was also charged with drug paraphernalia and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Heather S. Applegate, 32, of Greenfield, was charged with drug paraphernalia and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

ACCIDENTS

The police department responded to McDonald’s for the report of a two-car crash in the drive through. Amanda Huddleston of Lynchburg was in the drive through when she decided she needed to leave to get to work, so she began backing out, not seeing the vehicle being driven by Stephanie Skeens of Hillsboro behind her, causing Huddleston’s vehicle to back in to Skeens’ vehicle. No injuries were reported. There was minor damage.

The police department responded to North High Street near Collins Avenue for a report of a two-car crash. Ronnie McGraw of Hillsboro was traveling south on North High Street behind a vehicle driven by Kelly Colliver of Hillsboro. Colliver came to a stop in traffic and McGraw failed to see the vehicle stopped causing him to rear end Colliver’s vehicle. No injuries reported. McGraw was cited for assured clear distance.

INCIDENTS

The police department responded to a business in the 1200 block of North High Street for a female subject that appeared to be under the influence of drugs and passed out in her vehicle. Upon investigation, Katherine J. Page of Hillsboro was found to be in possession of drug abuse instruments and was arrested and transported to the Highland County Jail.

Sept. 29

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Jeffrey Tedford Jr., of Hillsboro, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

Logan Walker, of Hillsboro, was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Jeremy W. Bowen, of Hillsboro, was arrested on theft charges and transported to the Highland County Jail.

ACCIDENT

At 3:03 p.m., the police department responded to the report of a two-car crash on East Main Street at the intersection of North High Street. Adam W. Wait, of Hillsboro, was stopped in traffic at a red light when a vehicle driven by David A. Jamieson, of Hillsboro, struck the rear bumper of Wait’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Jamieson was cited for assured clear distance.
