The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Jan. 12

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Anthony Canter, 28, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a failure to appear bench warrant.

Christopher Pollard, 24, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a failure to appear bench warrant.

Chad Toplovich, of Hillsboro, was cited for expired tags.

Jan. 13

INCIDENT

At approximately 10:19 a.m. the police department responded to the 300 block of Johnson Street for a report of a vehicle break-in that occurred sometime overnight. Taken from the vehicle was a Samsung laptop computer and diabetic medication.

ACCIDENT

At 12:02 p.m. the police department received a report of a two-car crash in the 100 block of North High Street. Upon investigation, Robert Smith of Hillsboro was traveling north on North High Street and was sitting stationary in traffic. Janeen Deatley of Hillsboro was backing out from a parking space from the side of North High Street. While backing out, Deatley failed to see Smith’s vehicle sitting in traffic and struck the right side of his vehicle causing minor damage to both vehicles. Deatley was issued a citation for improper backing.
