Hillsboro Police Department reports

The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Jan. 15

INCIDENT

The police department received a complaint of criminal damaging on Water Street. Upon officers arrival, the residents advised that sometime overnight a window to a camper had been broken and a metal fence was knocked down. None of the residents heard or saw anything over the evening. A report was taken.

Jan. 16

INCIDENT

The police department and Highland County Sheriff’s Office investigated several subjects for a theft from a business in the 1400 block of North High Street. Upon further investigation, Jason Nehus, 32, of Xenia, was found to be in possession of stolen property and charged with receiving stolen property. Ashley Crawford, 29, of West Union, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments. Both were arrested and transported to the Highland County Jail.

Jan. 17

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Samantha Kelly, 27, was arrested on a failure to appear bench warrant.

Nicholas Cordy, 33, was arrested on a failure to appear bench warrant.

Jan. 18

The police department responded to a report of loud screaming in the 400 block of South West Street. Upon Officers arrival and after investigation it was found that 43-year-old John H. Friend had struck his 20-year-old daughter on the face before other family members were able to pull him away from striking her anymore. John Friend was charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence and was transported to the Highland County Justice Center.

Jan. 19

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Brenda M. Kirk, 45, of Sinking Spring, was arrested on possessing drug abuse instruments charges as well as a probation violation.

Tonya M. Woolridge, 34, of Hillsboro, was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

Tara N. Fuller, 34, of Lancaster, was arrested on a failure to appear bench warrant.
