Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of March 6-12 the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 240 911 calls, answered 145 requests for service, dispatched 153 fire and EMS runs, took 43 offense reports and investigated three traffic crashes.

On March 8 at 6:40 p.m. a Rocky Fork Lake resident called the sheriff’s office to report being assaulted at a residence on Highland Hills Drive. A deputy responded to the complainant’s location to take an offense report.

A citizen on West Deadfall Road called the sheriff’s office at 8:45 a.m. on March 8 to report an overnight theft. Taken from the owner was a set of keys and a canine. A deputy was dispatched to the scene where a report was taken.

At 4:33 a.m. on March 11 the sheriff’s office received an alarm activation from a commercial structure on North Shore Drive in Paint Township. Deputies responded to the scene and checked the premises. Everything was found to be secure.

On March 11 at 7:51 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence on Maple Trail to investigate a report of several subjects outside arguing. While interviewing witnesses of the dispute the deputy encountered a male who had an outstanding arrest warrant from Adams County. John W. Embree III, 33, was taken into custody and transported to the Highland County Justice Center.
