Carol Gorby was named the Top Floral Designer for 2015 and received the coveted Faye Collins Designer of the Year Award at the Ohio State Convention of Ohio Association of Garden Clubs.
Gorby has been a member of the Hillsboro Garden Club since 2000 and a regular contestant in the designer contest. Placing second several times, this year her design of “Christmas Morning,” an abstract creative design, was awarded first place in the holiday category and judged best design overall of the 49 entered.
Larry Moore received the Regional Outstanding Club Member Award for 2015 during the Ohio State Convention of Ohio Association of Garden Clubs. A longtime member of the Hillsboro Garden Club, Moore was a repeat winner in this contest, having also received it in 2009. Also a contestant for the Faye Collins Designer of the Year Award, his creative design “Gearing Up for Black Friday” placed third in the holiday category.
