Hillsboro FFA selling poinsettias

The Hillsboro FFA Greenhouse Management Class will be selling poinsettias like this one.

The Hillsboro FFA is having a poinsettia sale. You can purchase red poinsettias at Hillsboro High School, where the Greenhouse Management Class will be selling them Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The sale opens Nov. 30 and runs through Dec. 17.

The poinsettias are $9 each or $7 each if you purchase three or more. The money received from the poinsettia sale is used to support the Greenhouse Management Class by covering the cost of the materials and appliances for the next sale. Delivery is available if needed.

For any questions or to purchase a poinsettia call 937-393-3485 ext. 1580 or 1582.

The Poinsettia sale is a project for the Greenhouse Management Class. The students of the class are each assigned an advertisement, marketing project and sales plan, and are expected to accomplish certain jobs around the greenhouse. The class purchases the plugs of poinsettias and practices the best processes of planting, fertilizing, pinching, and pest management.

Hunter Chain, a member of the class, said, “I am looking forward to seeing if the hard work of the class will pay off through our sales.”

The Greenhouse Management Class is just one of the many FFA classes Hillsboro High School has to offer.
