Youth Hunter Appreciation Day

A Whitetails Unlimited Youth Hunter Appreciation Day will be held From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22 at Holtfield Station, 620 S. High St., Hillsboro.

The event includes a free lunch, field dressing demonstration, BB gun shooting, archery shooting and door prizes.

Hunters must be present to win prizes. Kids are encouraged to bring their deer for a group photo.

All youth hunters who took a deer from the opening day of deer season through Nov. 22 will be entered in a draw for three prizes: first place is a Mossberg 20-guage shotgun, second place is a T/C muzzleloader and third place is a treestand from the Old Trading Post. Youth hunters must bring their 18-digit permanent tag number to be entered in the drawing.

There will also be a Big Buck Contest. All youth hunters who took a buck from the opening day of deer season through Nov. 22 are invited to bring their buck or antlers for scoring. The winner will receive a free shoulder mount from Tri-Mount Taxidermy and three tickets to the 2016 Highland County Deer Hunters Whitetails Unlimited Banquet.
