Catholic Schools Week in Highland County


The Highland County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday proclaimed Jan. 31 to Feb. 6 as Catholic Schools Week in Highland County. Mary Stanforth, principal of St. Mary Catholic School, said an open house is planned for Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and everyone is welcome to attend. She said all faiths are represented at the school. She said the week will be filled with activities and is about “celebrating excellence in education.” Stanforth was joined on Wednesday for the proclamation by students from kindergarten through fifth grade.
