The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

ACCIDENTS

On Monday, March 7, the police department responded to a crash in the 800 block of South High Street. Brad Butler, 43, of Hillsboro, was attempting to exit private property in a 2007 International Truck when he failed to see a northbound vehicle operated by Sheila Adams, 64, of Hillsboro. Adams 1988 Chrysler received heavy disabling damage. Butler was cited for failure to yield when entering a roadway from private property. No injuries were reported.

INCIDENTS

On Feb. 29, the police department received a call of a theft that occurred in the 400 block of Hazel Street. Entry was made into two vehicles where spare change was taken.

On Feb. 20, the police department received a call from Rite Aid located at 421 N. High St. of an unknown female that presented a counterfeit bill to purchase merchandise. The bank contacted Rite Aid after it was confirmed to be counterfeit.

ARRESTS

On March 6, Cata Michael Thomas, 20, of Hillsboro, was arrested for possession of marijuana.

On March 7, James Moon, 45, of Peebles, was arrested on a bench warrant for failure to appear.
