Humane Society Pet of the Week

Luke is the the Highland County Humane Society Pet of the Week. He is a hound/lab mix and is about 1 1/2 years old. He is a high energy dog. Luke was found on the side of the road where someone had thrown him out. He was so skinny you could see all of his ribs. After a checkup at the vet, a few medications and some groceries, he has become quite the handsome dog. “Come on out and visit Luke and all the other dogs and cats at the shelter in person. They would all love to have a family of their own,” the shelter operator said. The shelter is located at 9331 SR 124 Hillsboro. It is open noon to 5 p.m. six days per week (closed Wednesdays). To look at other dogs online, visit www.petfinder.com. If you would like to become a Highland County Humane Society member, call the shelter at 937-393-2110 for a newsletter and an application.
