Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of March 21-27, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 315 911 calls, answered 147 requests for service, dispatched 131 fire and EMS runs, took 33 offense reports and investigated five traffic crashes.

A deputy was dispatched to a business in the 4000 block of East Danville Rd at 10:58 a.m. on March 21 to investigate a breaking and entering. Someone entered the premises overnight and stole several items including candy and fishing tackle. An offense report was taken.

A Smart Road property owner called the sheriff’s office at 12:28 p.m. on March 23 to report an all-terrain vehicle stolen from his barn sometime overnight. A deputy responded to the scene to collect evidence and take an offense report. An investigation is still pending.

At 11:30 on March 24 a resident of Pigeon Roost Road came to the sheriff’s office to report a theft. A deputy spoke with the complainant and an offense report was taken.

A deputy is currently investigating a vehicle vandalism that occurred at a residence on Edwards Road in Sardinia. The vehicle owner called the sheriff’s office at 8:59 a.m. on March 25 th after discovering the damage.
