This week’s Highland County Humane Society Shelter Pets of the Week are a pair of puppies about 4 months old from a litter of three. The mother is Australian Shepherd and the father is unknown.
One pup is Aussie looking and named Roscoe and the other pup is named Ruby who looks like she may have husky in her. There is a third pup that looks like a black lab and her name is Rena. If you would like to see any of these dogs, come out to the shelter. It is open from noon to 5 p.m. six days per week and is closed on Wednesdays.
The shelter wants to invite the public to its Mardi Growl Parade on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Liberty Park in Hillsboro. It will be having a raffle, bake sale, food, vendors, grab bags and a photographer that will take a picture of you and your dog. To participate in the one-mile walk, there is a $20 registration fee. It will include a T-shirt, beads, bandana and the walk. You must register by May 6 in order to be guaranteed a T-shirt. The T-shirts come in sizes small to 3XL and in colors including green, violet and yellow. They may be viewed at www.facebook.com/highandcountyhumanesociety.
Registration forms may be picked up at the Hillsboro Veterinary Hospital, 941 W. Main St., or at the Highland County Humane Society at 9331 SR 124, east of Hillsboro. The registration can be dropped off at the shelter or mailed to the Highland County Humane Society, P.O .Box 471, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
