The Paxton Theatre is excited to announce auditions for Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” which will be held on Saturday, June 11 from 12 – 3 p.m.

The classic story tells of Belle, a beautiful young bookworm in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

Those auditioning are asked to prepare, and preferably memorize, a short one-to-two minute monologue. If students are unable to find material, an option will be provided at auditions. Auditioners will also be asked to sing a short song of their choice. All those auditioning must be entering grades one through twelve in the fall. No one older will be considered for a role. Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” will be performed July 29 – 31.
