Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of June 6-12, the sheriff’s office received 376 911 calls, answered 180 requests for service, dispatched 146 fire and EMS runs, took 36 offense reports and investigated four traffic crashes.

At 12:34 p.m. on June 6, the owner of a business in the 12000 of SR called the sheriff’s office to report a theft that had been caught on video surveillance. A deputy responded and took an offense report. An arrest warrant has been filed on a female suspect.

The sheriff’s office received a 911 call from a Riber Road residence at 6:17 p.m. 7, following a domestic dispute between a father and daughter. A deputy dispatched to scene spoke to the female victim and a witness who confirmed that an assault had taken place. The male suspect left prior to jaw enforcement arriving, but he was arrested later one count of domestic violence.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 7000 block of SR753 at on June 9, after receiving a report of domestic violence involving a mother and so. When deputies arrived on scene it was discovered that four people had been involved in the argument which escalated into a physical altercation. Jessica Carman, 40, and Joshua Carman, 19, both were arrested tor domestic violence and transported to the Highland County Justice Center. A third suspect, Teyanna Taylor of Greenfield, was cited for disorderly conduct.

A Spruance Road resident called 911 at 10:56 p.m. on June 11, to report two men fighting. While deputies were en route to the scene a 911 call of shots being fired was received from another resident in the same vicinity. Both incidents were investigated and found to be related. Robert Bragdon of Leesburg was arrested for one count of assault, while a Hillsboro man was charged with one count of using weapons while intoxicated. Both were scheduled to be arraigned Monday, June 13 in Hillsboro Municipal Court.
