Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of July 4-10, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 298 911 calls, answered 150 requests for service, dispatched 110 fire and EMS runs, took 34 offense reports and investigated five traffic crashes.

Deputies were dispatched to investigate a domestic violence complaint on East Main Street in Highland at 8:34 p.m. on July 6. A third party called the sheriff’s office when an argument between a husband and wife became physical. Deputies arrested Dillon M. Huddleston, 23, on one count of domestic violence and transported him to the Highland County Justice Center.

At 8:30 a.m. on July 7 an employee of a business in the 14000 block of U.S. Route 50 called the sheriff’s office to report a theft from a coin machine. An offense report was taken. This incident and several other similar unsolved cases remain under investigation. A deputy is currently investigating a burglary that occurred at a residence in the 6000 block of U.S. Route 62 in Liberty Township. The property owner called the sheriff’s office at 10:17 a.m. on July 9 after discovering items were missing from her home and vehicle.

A domestic disturbance complaint was received from a citizen in the 9000 block of U.S. Route 50 at 9:03 p.m. on July 10. The caller reported that an intoxicated female was causing problems and refusing to leave. Deputies were dispatched to assist. The suspect left on foot prior to law enforcement arriving, but she was located a short distance away. Katherine J. Fitzpatrick, 45, was arrested for persistent disorderly conduct and transported to the Highland County Justice Center.
