Relay for Life Spaghetti Dinner and Bingo
A Relay for Life Spaghetti Dinner and Bingo will be held Friday, April 11 at the Job and Family Services building, 1574 N. High St., Hillsboro. Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for a donation of $5 for those 12 and older and $3 for those under 12. Bingo will follow. All donations will go to Relay For Life. Donnie Sumner at Walnut Hill CCCU
On Saturday April 12 Donnie Sumner will perform at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union, 10449 Barger Rd., Leesburg. Sumner, a Gaither Homecoming artist, Grammy nominee, and former back-up singer for Elvis Presley, will perform at 6:30 p.m. Food will be available from 4-6 p.m. for a donation. A love offering will also be taken up during the evening.
Leesburg American Legion Easter egg hunt

Easter Bunny photos at TSC
On Saturday, April 12, the Highland County Humane Society will be at TSC in Hillsboro. At that time, kids and pets alike can get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny for a $5 donation. The event will take place between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Pictures will be taken by Impulse Photography. Pets will also be available for adoption through the Humane Society at that time.
Mowrystown Leo Club hosting Easter egg hunt
The Mowrystown Leo Club will be hosting an Easter egg hunt on April 12 from 10 a.m. through noon at the Whiteoak High School. The ‘Terry Lee Show’

Dinner at Marshall School Gymnasium
The Marshall School Committee will hold a Roast Pork, Baked Steak and Chicken Dinner at the Marshall School Gymnasium, Saturday, April 12 from 4-7 p.m. The menu will also include mashed potatoes, green beans, salad bar, rolls, desserts and drinks. A freewill donation will be accepted. A theme-basket silent auction and 50/50 raffle will be held throughout the evening. Presbyterian Women’s Tasting Luncheon
Simply Homemade is the theme of this year’s Presbyterian Women’s Tasting Luncheon. The event will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12 in the First Presbyterian Church, 457 Jefferson St., Greenfield. Adult tickets are $10; children under 12 are $3. Tickets will be available at the door and include a taste of more than 40 recipes and a cookbook. Everyone is welcome to attend. The 2nd Annual Fire Department Bunny Bingo will be held Saturday, April 12, 7 p.m., at the Leesburg Fire Dept. Community Room. Come on out and try your luck at winning a ham just in time for Easter! Money raised goes into the Public Safety account which helps fund some of our programs such as Fire Prevention Education for the children at the school and library. Union Church of Christ Community Easter Egg Hunt

Teatime Tootsies Red Hat Event
Elvis impersonator Mike Albert will be the featured entertainer when the annual Teatime Tootsies Red Hat Event celebrates its 10th anniversary April 14 at the Highland County Senior Citizen Center in Hillsboro.
The doors open at 10 a.m. and a plate lunch will be served at noon. The cost is $35 per person. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and Jolene’s Fashions by the event vendor, MIke Carter. Albert will perform after the lunch.

Blood drive in Lynchburg
The Lynchburg Area Joint Fire & Ambulance District has partnered with Hoxworth Blood Center to host a community blood drive Monday, April 14 from 1:30 7:30 p.m. in the community room, 8123 SR 135, Lynchburg. Individuals must weigh at least 110 pounds and bring identification to donate. It is recommended that donors eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within four hours before donating.

Belfast Cemetary Association to meet
The annual meeting of the Belfast Cemetery Association will be Tuesday, April 15 at 7 p.m. at the home of Dick and Phyllis Gorman, 9935 Coss Rd.

Holy Communion service
The Hillsboro First Presbyterian Church will commemorate the Lord’s Last Supper with a Holy Communion service at 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday, April 17. It is also inviting the public to an Easter morning service to celebrate the Lord’s resurrection by having a sunrise service at the Liberty Park Shelter House at 6:30 a.m. Donuts and coffee will be provided for a time of fellowship after the service. The church will have another Easter celebration at 10 a.m. at the church for regular worship.

Hospice volunteer classes
Community Care Hospice is offering a new volunteer training class. There are several opportunities that await you: visit patients, caregiver relief, deliver supplies, run errands, assist office staff, fundraising activities. The Highland County Poultry Association will be holding its annual flea market on May 3 and 4 at the Highland County Fairgrounds. Many spots will be available for all types of vendors. Summer activities at the Hillsboro Public Library
Readers of all ages are invited to the Hillsboro Public Library this summer for Fizz, Boom, Read. The library has a whole summer of special events planned, including science experiments, art contests, haunted Ohio spirits, the Pennington Clowns, and the Indoor Dome Theater.
It all starts Saturday, May 31. Register and take part in science experiments, enjoy treats, and get messy from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Then visit us each week for a special program in June and July. The finale will be an appearance by Ronald McDonald.

Applications available for AAUW scholarships
The American Association of University Women is accepting applications for educational scholarships for 2014. Eligibility requirements are: Current resident of the Highland County area; applicant must be 21 years of age by July 1, 2014 and must be attending an accredited college or university and give evidence of being enrolled in a degree program.
