The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs volleyball team took on Piketon in their home and season opener on Wednesday night. The Lynchburg girls lost to their opponents in three sets with scores of 25-27, 13-25, and 8-25.
“I think we competed tonight,” coach Mark Faust said after the game. “Last week we scrimmaged [Piketon] and lost five sets to them and I know we lost three here tonight, but we made them work for them. I think Piketon is very comparable to some of the teams we will play this season. I think if we can continue to improve, we’ll be in good shape. I think if tonight is any indication, it bodes well for a good season.”
The Lady Mustangs’ first four games of the schedule are at home and the next one is Thursday, August 21 when the play host to East Clinton and they open league play on this Friday when Southern Hills Athletic Conference opponent Fairfield comes to town. Both games start at 5:00 p.m. with the jayvee.
