Bill Pfister Gold Stick Classic held


The Bill Pfister Gold Stick Classic wiffleball tournament was held Saturday in Lynchburg in honor of the late Bill Pfister, longtime coach and sports supporter. Shown throwing out the first pitch is Pfister’s son, Butch Pfister, with daughter Anita Wells catching. The event raised money for the Lynchburg Knothole Baseball program, which Pfister helped originate.

The Goon Platoon was runner-up in the Bill Pfister Gold Stick Classic. Team members were, from left, Ken Miller, Vincent Miller, Todd Wilkin and Bobby Miller.
