Hayton, Goolsby continue track success

The Hillsboro Indians boys track team won the Zane Trace Invitational Thursday at Zane Trace High School, with seniors Jeremy Hayton and Austin Goolsby carving out more success in sprints, relays and field events.

In team scoring, the Hillsboro boys took first place, while the Lady Indians took third in girls events.

Individually, Hayton took first place in the 100- and 200-meter dash with a time of 11.53, while Goolsby came in second in the 100 with 11.72.

Hayton, Goolsby, Austin Kimble and Luke Gallimore were also on the first-place 4×100-meter relay team with a final time of 45.22, while Gallimore, Triton Davidson, Austin Harris and Darby Pillow were on the first-place 4×400 relay team with a final time of 3:42. Chayce Watson took third in the 300-meter hurdles with 46.72.

In distance, Ty Alexander took second in the 800-meter run at 2:11.18

In field events, Goolsby won first in the long jump with 20-04.75, and first in pole vault with 15-00. Mark Gallimore was second in pole vault at 11-06, and Hayton came in second in the high jump with 6-06.

In girls track, Jaeleigh Hart came in third in the 100-meter dash at 13.77, while Emma Hess took third in the 300-meter hurdles with 56.11, and second in high jump with 4-06. Ellie Elmore took third in girls pole vault at 7-06.
