“I was really proud of the way we bounced back from last week,” WHS head coach Scott Killen after the contest.

“I was especially proud of the way our younger kids performed tonight. They gave us a lot of effort, especially with all the injuries, and they showed a lot of leadership out there. We’ve just got to keep plugging away and deal with these injuries and get healthy as soon as we can,” he remarked.

Dylan Beaugard, inserted as quarterback for the injured Matt Creditt, got the ‘Cane on the board at the 7:42 mark of the opening quarter on a 45-yard touchdown run, however the PAT failed. But the scoring was not over for the orange and black as Beaugard drilled a pass over the middle to Matthew Smith with less than 1:00 remaining in the half.
