Hillsboro Police Department reports


The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Feb. 17

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Heather Rowlands, 28, of Lynchburg, was cited for speed.

Marjorie Lakes, 61, of Hillsboro, was cited for failure to use turn signal.

Todd Surber, 32, of Hillsboro, was cited for speed.

ACCIDENT

At 3:28 p.m., the police department responded to the 1200 block of North High Street for a report of a traffic crash. Upon investigation, Stanley Wagner, 48, of Cincinnati, was southbound on North High Street when he had stopped in traffic. Geneva Wagner, 94, of Hillsbor,o approached from the rear and was attempting to stop when her foot slipped off of the brake and struck Wagner’s vehicle in a rear end type collision. No injuries were reported. Minor damage was observed and a report was taken.

INCIDENT

At 1:12 p.m. the police department responded to a business in the 600 block of South High Street for a complainant of stolen property. Upon investigation, it was found that an unknown white male entered the place of business, concealed the property then left the store.

Feb. 18

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Brandon White, 21, of Lynchburg, was cited for failure to yield.

Charles Clark, 74, old of Hillsboro, was cited for assured clear distance.

Tonya Pollock, 38, of Lynchburg was arrested for an illegal purchase of pseudoephedrine.

INCIDENT

At 3:45 p.m., the police department responded to Walmart to take a theft report with a female detained in the asset protecting office. Upon arrival, Breeanna Gragg, 21, of Lynchburg, was found to be stealing merchandise and concealing it in her purse before walking past the last point of sale with no attempt in paying for it. Gragg was transported to the Highland County Justice Center on theft charges.

ACCIDENT

At 1:37 p.m. the police department responded to the 500 block of Harry Sauner Road for a report of a crash. Upon arrival, Jerry Martin, of Hillsboro, was blocked by a fuel truck when attempting to leave. While Martin was backing away he struck another vehicle.
