It was the Southern Hills Athletic Conference versus the South Central Ohio League on Wednesday night as the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs hosted the McClain Lady Tigers in a soccer match that ended in a one-sided victory for Lynchburg to the tune of 10-0.

Lady Mustang Lexi Waits got the scoring started for her team with a goal just over four minutes into the game (35:53). McKayla Binkley, who had a hat trick for the game, score two minutes later to put the Lynchburg girls up 2-0.

The Lady Mustangs scored six total goals in the first period with goals coming from Angela McLaughlin and Taiyler Marcelino as well.

Savannah Cochran, Peyton Scott, and Shelby Chisman all joined in the scoring in the second period and McKayla Binkley picked up her third goal in the half as well.

“I thought our girls played really well,” said Coach Dennis West of Lynchburg after the game. “We passed the ball really well and that gave us opportunities to work on some things as well as some looks to score.”

The Lady Mustangs improved to 7-1-1 with the win and will travel to Fairfield on Friday night to play the Lady Lions.
