The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs soccer season came to a rough end on Saturday night as they lost to Alexander 5-0 at Athens High School.

The Mustangs played their opponents close in the first period, only allowing one goal in the first forty minutes.

The Lynchburg squad had played Alexander earlier this year and lost 4-0.

In the second half, the Mustangs broke down on defense and allowed a total of four more goals to be scored without being able to tally one of their own and lost the game with a final of 5-0.

With the loss, the Mustangs finished the season at 13-3-3 with both a league championship and sectional championship under their belts.

The Mustangs graduate nine seniors in Wesley Smith, Devin Pierson, Tyler Barton, Noah Scott, Tyler Brinkman, Alec Elam, Austin Chisman, Brandon Storer and Josh Ahrmann.
