Lady Mustangs dominate Ripley

The Lady Mustangs of Lynchburg-Clay handed Ripley a crushing defeat on Wednesday night with a 12-2 run-rule in five innings.

The Lady Mustangs got going early and scored often as they scored in every single at-bat on the night. The Lynchburg girls tallied three runs in both the first and second innings, four in the third inning, and finished off their scoring with two more in the bottom of the of the fourth.

Ripley was able to get one run in the top of the first inning to take a short-lived lead and added one more to that in the second.

Chelsi Hacker led the Lady Mustangs at the plate, smashing her first homerun of the season. She was 3-for-3 and scored three times. Hannah Binkley also collected three hits with a single, double and triple and scored three times; Cailee Elam and Serah Whitacre notched two hits each and Hayley McConnaughey, Hannah Morgan, and Kaitlyn Waits each had one hit on the night.

Tylar Griffith picked up the win on the mound for the Lady Mustangs.
