The Hillsboro Legion team opened up their own Wood Bat Tournament on Friday afternoon with a game against Troy Post 43 that started at 1 p.m. The Hillsboro boys were able to force the game into three extra innings but lost after ten with a score of 5-2.

Troy took an early lead in the game scoring two runs in the early innings. It took Hillsboro a few innings to get their offense going but they were able to score two runs in one inning scoring Morgan Ryan and Andrew Ruess to tie the score at two runs for both teams.

Things were very quiet for both teams after that, with Troy making the most noise, having a runner in scoring position almost every inning. In the tenth and final inning, Troy broke out for three runs in the top of the inning and Hillsboro could not answer in the bottom and lost the opening game of their tournament with a final of 5-2.

The tournament continues tomorrow with two games at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m and one game at 4 p.m. and a final game at 6:30. Hillsboro will play their first game tomorrow at 11 a.m.

On Sunday, there will be a total of four games. One at 11, 1:30, 4:00 and the championship game will be held at 6:30.
