2015 Highland County Shootout

The 2015 Highland County Shootout will be held Friday, June 26 this year instead of a Saturday.

It will take place at the Hillsboro High School and Hillsboro Middle School Gymnasiums.

Fairfield, Hillsboro, Lynchburg-Clay, McClain, and Whiteoak High School will all be participating.

Games start at 9 a.m. and there will be a game every hour in both gyms until 1 p.m.

2015 Hillsboro Indians Youth Basketball Camp

The Hillsboro Indians boys basketball team will be holding its 2015 youth basketball camp at the Hillboro High School June 22-25.

Grades 3,4, and 5 will go from 9 a.m. until 11:30, and grades 6,7, and 8 will run from 12:30 p.m. until 3.

The camp will include: Fundamental teaching stations/lectures, competitive team contests/drills, daily team league games/contests, quality instruction from Hillsboro coaching staff and players, and 1 on 1 champion, 5 on 5 champions, Hot Shot Champion, Dribble Tag Champion and Camper of the Week awards.

The cost of the camp is $40 and you can register on June 22.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Golf Tournament

Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Ohio announces their 7th annual golf event will be at the Jaycees Golf Course on Saturday June 27th. Golf for Kids’ Sake is a four person best ball tournament with teams competing for the first ever Carl Myers Founder’s Trophy.

Entry forms are available at the Chillicothe Jaycees Golf Course on Pleasant Valley Road. Golfers can also sign up on the web at the agency director’s website www.bobneal.com or you can call Big Brothers Big Sisters at 740-773-2447. Entry fees are $300 per team or $75 per golfer. Hole sponsorships with tee or green signage are available for $100.

Proceeds from the golf tournament support the agency that recruits volunteers to be a mentor for a child facing adversity. Children with a strong role model in their life do better at school, stay out of trouble, and have higher aspirations and more confidence.

Bill Pfister Gold Stick Classic

The Bill Pfister Gold Stick Classic wiffle ball tournament will be held Saturday, July 25 at 9 a.m. at the Old School Lynchburg Park.

Entry fee on or before July, 11 is $100 per team and $125 if before July 18.

Cash prizes and t-shirts for winner and t-shirts for runner up. There will also be a home run derby.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 5K

The 2nd annual 5K benefit for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be held Saturday, June 27 at McClain High School track. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. the run/walk at 9 a.m. The entry fee $20 (includes meal and T-shirt).
