The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Feb. 2

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Barbara R. Sluss, 47, of Hillsboro, was arrested for unlawful purchase of ppseudoephedrine.

INCIDENT

The police department received a report that Brendon Thomas, 18, of Hillsboro, was contacting a 16-year-old female by text message after he was told to stop by law enforcement. After further investigation, Thomas was arrested and transported to the Highland County Justice Center. He was charged with telephone harassment and contributing to the unruliness of a minor.

ACCIDENT

At 2:38 p.m. the police department received a report of a two-car crash on South High Street near Walnut Street. A vehicle being driven by a juvenile was in the northbound lane of South High Street stopped in traffic south of Walnut Street. A vehicle being driven by an additional juvenile was traveling in the northbound lane of South High Street directly behind the other vehicle, failing to maintain assured clear distance ahead, causing it to strike the other vehicle in the rear. Both vehicles received minor damage. One juvenile was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Feb. 3

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Alisa M. Kirschner, 33, old of Hillsboro, was arrested on a failure to appear bench warrant.

A juvenile was arrested for assault and criminal damaging.

Feb. 4

INCIDENT

At 1:09 a.m. the police department responded to the Ole Depot for a report of a fight. Upon arrival, it was found that a group of people were refusing to leave when told, they then got into an altercation with an employee. The employee ended up on the ground where he was then allegedly assaulted by Matthew B. West, 21, of Hillsboro, who was arrested and transported to the Highland County Justice Center on criminal trespassing charges.

At 8:23 p.m. the police department received a report of a window to a residence being broken in the 300 block of East Main Street. Upon arrival, officers photographed the damage and a report was taken. The victim did not witness any persons outside of the residence at the time of the incident.
